Brief Description of Research Interest :
BEng, Chemical Engineering (2000)
MSc, Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology (2001)
PhD, Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials (2007)

My research interest focuses on biotechnology- the application of the life sciences to the fields of engineering, medicine and technology- in particular their application to regenerative medicine and drug delivery. Previous research has focused on tissue engineering (with emphasis on skin, eye and brain), the development of novel biomaterials, controlled drug delivery using polymer-based delivery vehicles and the immunological response of new tissue-engineered materials.

Current research work includes the development of a desiccation-tolerant mammalian cell line and bio-process optimization.
