Brief Description of Research Interest :

My research focuses on developing advanced image analysis methods to investigate major neurological diseases and to identify factors that resist disease progression in the living brain. Neuroimaging measures of brain atrophy are useful biomarkers that monitor the progression of degenerative brain diseases and may help to accelerate drug trials aiming to slow brain degeneration. My research projects include adolescent brain development, anomalous brain growth in autistic children, neurodegeneration associated with HIV/AIDS, and progressive brain deterioration in mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease.
