Florian Forster joined the University of California, Berkeley and the Haas School of Business as a Postdoc and Swiss National Science Foundation fellow in October 2012.
Florian conducted his Ph.D. studies on Entrepreneurship at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School in Germany and later at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland where his dissertation on Social Entrepreneurship was awarded magna cum laude. He received the FGF Best Sustainable- and Social- Entrepreneurship Research Award 2012 for his paper “Why social entrepreneurs act – intention formation of corporate volunteers”.
Florian co-founded two entrepreneurship centers at both universities and headed them. He taught high-tech entrepreneurship to MBAs and assisted in lecturing several graduate and undergraduate courses on new venture creation and start-up management. For his achievements at HSG, he was granted the Communication Impact Award in 2011.
