Brief Description of Research Interest :

My PhD (Diabetes UK PhD funding) was based on glucose transport regulated by novel sweet taste receptors within the renal epithelium, and assessing their role in attenuating diabetes-induced hyperglycaemia.

My postdoctoral studies (AHA Postdoc Fellowship funding) are focused on understanding microvasculature complications associated with pulmonary and cardiovascular disease. In these areas, I have effectively implicated several target proteins, such as PTP1B, SHP2 , and the novel adaptor protein p18, associated with the endothelial barrier dysfunction observed in mild to severe acute respiratory distress syndrome.
