Brief Description of Research Interest :
My research mainly focuses on object recognition, visual tracking and animal behavior recognition from videos. It is effortless for human beings to do these tasks, however, they are extremely difficult for computer. My research goal is to make the computer intelligent enough to finish these tasks. I have been exploiting some computational models in neuroscience to simulate the functionality of the human vision system for solving these computer vision challenges. In the last seven years, I have developed some effective models and applied them in practical applications. Currently, I am working with Thomas Serre at Brown University aiming at developing a biologically inspired animal behavior recognition system.
