Brief Description of Research Interest :
|
In a broad sense, my research interests include identifying novel therapeutic targets for metabolic liver diseases such as steatosis and cholestasis. My research focuses on determining mechanisms by which liver injury can be alleviated and function improved in surgically, genetically and diet induced murine models of metabolic liver diseases. I have also worked on liver membrane transporters important in disposition of endo- and xenobiotics. Currently, I am pursuing novel intestine derived signaling pathways that can alleviate adiposity and steatosis and identifying novel therapeutics in reversing cholestatic liver injury.
