Brief Description of Research Interest :
|
I am currently studying the role for loss of IGF signaling in breast cancer. Loss of IGF signaling leads to more aggressive, metastatic mammary tumors in the context of overexpressing an oncogene. Increased metastasis is correlated with increased expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, M2 macrophage polarizing markers, and increased EMT marker expression. I am currently delineating the mechanism for metastasis in our model system.
