Brief Description of Research Interest :
I have focused my research on the role of non-coding RNAs and Calpain system in fibrotic disorders. I am developing genetically engineered mouse models to interrogate and elucidate mechanisms of fibrosis in multiple organ systems. By applying advanced RNA transcriptome sequencing and LNA technology, we discovered a novel microRNA target for the treatment of hypertension-induced cardiac remodeling and fibrosis.  The major goal of my studies is to define novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of fibrotic diseases.
