Metastasis
Brief Description of Research Interest :
The focus of our lab is to understand the molecular dynamics of prostate cancer metastasis to bone.  We aim to gain understanding of mechanisms involved in the progression and survival of metastatic prostate cancer within bone and are exploring novel therapeutic targets for treating this disease. My current project involves creating an integrated model system using biological assays and mathematical modeling to design and determine efficacy of specific therapeutics for bone metastases. Our first attempt at this system will involve TGF beta inhibition and signaling and we have developed a model to predict its role in the prostate tumor-bone microenvironment.
