Postdoc Journal is a Journal of Postdoctoral Research and Postdoctoral Affairs! While the Journal of Postdoctoral Research (JPR) publishes Research/Review/Perspective articles in ALL disciplines postdocs conduct research in, the Journal of Postdoctoral Affairs (JPA) is open to critical reviews and opinion pieces pertaining to the postdoctoral experience per se. Hence, whether you wish to discourse on the quality of postdoctoral mentorship, present a hypothetic subject case, draw valuable insights from your particular academic experience as a postdoc or a postdoctoral policy officer, present statistically elaborate social studies or surveys, JPA would welcome it all under its umbrella. Likewise, whether your research falls in the range of physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, mathematics, arts or humanities, you are welcome to submit it to JPR, provided that at least one of the authors is a postdoc. To be open to such a wide array of subjects and perspectives, all of which are like multiple facets of a diamond, unlike most other professional journals, Postdoc Journal, JPA or JPR, does not demand from the authors to structure papers according to a given template nor to adopt a specific presentation style. However, authors should strive to adhere to a standard format from a premier journal in their respective fields.

JPR is a peer-reviewed international publication reflective of the quality of postdoctoral research work, and a tribute to the creative, hard-working postdoctoral scientists around the world. And JPA is the first peer-reviewed journal whose topics revolve solely around the postdoctoral population and its interests. Both JPA and JPR are solely conceived as online journals and we are currently in the process of opening a forum for discussion of each piece as its supplementary part.

All papers related to postdoctoral research should be submitted to JPR-Editor-In-Chief@postdocjournal.com, and all papers related to postdoctoral affairs should be submitted to JPA-Editor-In-Chief@postdocjournal.com. The current Editors-In-Chief of the Journal of Postdoctoral Research are Dr. Michael Hoppa, a Neuroscience Postdoc from Cornell University [Weill Cornell Medical College], and Dr. Zi Chen - Society in Science - Branco Weiss Fellow in Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. The Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Postdoctoral Affairs is Dr. Vuk Uskokovic, a Nanotechnology postdoc from the University of California at San Fransisco.

Please Note: The next issue of JPA is set to release Dec. 2012 and the Inaugural Issue of JPR is scheduled to go live Jan 2013.
